Cabs
Columbia Elevator offers
the independent contractor and design professional an extraordinary
selection of cabs to address any situation. Our computer numerically
controlled machinery is used in the manufacture of all types
of cabs. Even our wood core cabs are manufactured this way,
using a six-axis table router. Cabs are first rendered, and
in essence, "virtually manufactured," in
cyber space via our proprietary CAD (Computer Aided Design) system
for design and quality review. Upon final engineering approval,
all CAD data is then transferred to our CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)
system for generation of code used in the operation of numerically
controlled machinery.
Columbia's commercial passenger cab line offers
an unlimited variety of aesthetic features for use in office
complexes, apartment buildings, hospitals, etc. Whether the cab
is manufactured using a steel shell, wood core or steel shell
with hanging panels, the building owner can rest assured that
the product will bear a UL label certifying code compliance.
Contractors engaged in new construction
may use any of Columbia's cab designs; those engaged in modernization
are benefited by the use of our patented InstaFast ™ technology. Cab wall
and/or ceiling panels incorporating our "boltless" InstaFast
joining system are light weight and modular, fitting easily through
existing hoistway door openings. This allows for the quick and
easy assembly of the cab inside an existing shaft without any
need for opening the building's corridor walls. InstaFast may
be used in the assembly of any steel shell or hanging panel model.
